Team Mashup
My mashup for the project is gesture based learning and transparency (scrutiny). Gesture based learning is a fairly simple concept. It means using your body for do something in an educational way. A simple on is any type of touch screen item. If you use this for an educational purpose your are using gesture based learning. Another more complicated way is using the Microsoft Kinect. This has been used to help deaf children learn different things. There are so many other kinds of gesture based things but the I see much more to come in the future because it is such a new and exiting concept. Transparency or scrutiny is referring more to things being real. Showing everything is not fake or there isn't any fake information or things of that nature. Helps us sift through the things we want to look at and things that we can obviously skip over. The combination of these to I think will be based on the showing of how to use these gesture based learning objects. If they show the realistic ways to use them and how they can be used or if it is all based on unrealistic lies.

Chapter 5 Tapscott's Education
Teachers today could get a lot of use out of Tapscott's ideas of teaching. One thing he says is a major help is for teachers to not lecture students but to interact with them. This is important because it uses one of the norms, collaboration. This is a good trait for teaching because it helps the students learn knowing the teacher is working it with them and are there when they need them. A second concept that goes with collaboration is having student working together as well. Having other students working together helps because they get to have people to learn with. They can see different sides of things and how other students are comprehending things which might allow them to get a broader and better understanding of what they are learning. It is hard to work by yourself because you are only going by what you got out of the lecture. Anything you missed will be lost forever for you. Especially if the teacher doesn't have a collaboration teaching method. Another concept is not having the same education for each student. It is better to have customization especially in learning because people learn differently from student to student. Customization is also another norm in the six norms. The importance of personalizing a students education could be the difference from someone graduating and dropping out. Tapscott has many insights on education but I see these as the two most important for today's education.

The Eight Net Gen Norms
The eight net gen norms are freedom, customization, scrutiny, integrity, collaboration, entertainment, speed, and innovation. When they talk about freedom they are referring to do more things than ever. Such as communication with people in other countries with a click of a button or watching that new video that just came out on television within minutes. This gives people the freedom to do what they want when they want to. Customization is pretty much exactly that. The ability to personalize and make things to your needs or wants is huge. Everything electronically can be personalized to us and what we would prefer to have. Making having electronics more appealing because it is nice to have everything exactly how you want it. Scrutiny means to look at things very closely and almost over analyze them to the point where people can differ real from fake. When you scrutinize everything online people are able to be better researchers because they can tell what is reliable information. The integrity means being honest and true to what you are saying. Having truth behind what you put online makes you more reliable to read and a better person. Having integrity also means adhering to the online etiquette because just bashing someone makes you partial and not transparent like you need to be. Collaboration is the coming together for the same cause kind of thing. Like many chat groups, blog groups, and other ways to be in online clubs. Its the act of putting your minds together online and being in touch with people you may or may not personally know for social, work, or educational purposes. Entertainment is one of the most popular ways of internet use. This includes things such as online games, videos, and other sources of entertainment. Its a way of being amused with less effort and at a quicker pace making it very appealing. Speed has become a huge part of the net in recent years especially. The fact of having something you need in seconds at your finger tips makes for a very successful establishment. We are so used to now having the ability to connect online just about every where we go in the world. We now expect to have things in seconds and to keep everything fast paced. Innovation is simply the getting better. As new things come out and get better we want even more. We are always searching for the next best thing to the best right now. The innovations in the net will never slow down as long as someone has a great new idea. The eight net gens give not only future predictions of the net but also the guidelines of the net. Each norm has a specific reason it made the top and each are very important in there own way.

The Importance of Meeting Deadlines in Business and Education
When it comes to meeting deadlines it becomes very important especially in business and education. This is because of three main reasons; the information you are given is probably important and needed at that time, it shows how responsible you are or aren't, and it will put you forward in what ever you are doing. When you are doing something for school or your business/job you will have to get things done at a certain time because that information is needed at that time for a reason. When you do something such as a presentation you will need to have the power point done at a certain time so you can present it. If not then the day you have to present the information you will have nothing to show. The second reason is meeting a deadline shows how responsible you are because if you cant meet a deadline then you give the impression that you can't do it. Although you may have the information almost done or you could have gotten it done the business world especially doesn't care. All they will see is that you didn't finish your work and may look at other employers who did and may see you as incapable. Lastly when you meet a deadline this will push you forward. When you finish something in school this will push you forward and allow you to do the new work given to you. In business it will allow you to take on more projects and get paid more money. So as you see meeting deadlines becomes very important in life.

Giving and Recieving Criticism On Your Wiki Posts
With having a wiki, people can comment on your posts. When you post something people might think something is incorrect about your post. Because of this they will leave a constructive criticism pointing out the problem. As the person who posted the wiki, don't take offense to their comment. Most are honestly trying to make your post better, and are not trying to make you look bad or wrong. So the best way to respond to this is to first see if what they corrected is really wrong. If so then you correct the wrong piece and leave a comment responding to the person. In the response you should thank them for their help and note exactly what you corrected. If they are wrong and the information is correct respond by telling them why it is correct and/or why you worded it the way you did. Responding to the criticisms is good for you as a blogger because it shows that you do care about your readers and you readers opinions. Also with blogging you can give criticisms. When giving criticism make sure the information you are giving is 100% correct. Make sure that you are being constructive and giving advise not just being rude and calling them out. The best way to be a good blog reader is to have an open mind to their opinion and especially to post things pertaining to the subject in the most.

Using Wiki To Communicate
Communicating digitally is a huge part of out world today, and that includes the sight wiki spaces. Wiki is a great way to spread and post information. When you feel something is important then it is a good idea to post it. What makes wiki good is you can join groups and post certain information to those wiki's that that specific group might feel important. For example since I am apart of 21st Century Communication-PPHS, so I would post information that would pertain to communicating in this day in age. Also it would need to be relevant and interesting to the people in the group. This is one way you can communicate through wiki, just by sharing the information. Another way you can communicate through wiki is by commenting on peoples wikis. Whether is be to compliment their writing, give constructive criticism, or just comment on the topic we are all communicating. These comments can go back and forth for long periods of time or maybe just one response to the comment but either way there was a two way communication. You can also of course post on other peoples wiki's and give your own input. You can also send messages to people through wiki to talk about your personal things or you can talk about your wiki information. So all in all you can communicate through many outlets throughout wiki.

Using Digital Communication Tools To Present A Communication Tool
When using digital communication it has to have started from somewhere. Whatever type of communication you are presenting whether it be something like facebook, second life, or aim you can use other types of digital communication to get the word out. It's almost like advertising digital communication. For example if you are teaching someone about how to use twitter, you might use a youtube video to present how to use it. This is a way to present your digital communication through another type. Using this, kind of brings you full circle when it come to communicating digitally because your learning how to use one while using another. A second example could be as simple as making a blog on how to use facebook and then linking a tutorial on another sight. The possibilities using digital communication is endless and that makes how to present it endless too. The only bad thing about it is that if you don't know how to use any digital communication then it would be hard to learn off another type. This is when people come in with things such as power points and other presentations to it so the person learning doesn't have to actually know exactly how to use any digital communication yet. So even though there is a slight flaw in the system most can use other kinds of communication to learn about another type.
